Announcing: Art Benefit Concert at Historic Building!
Artists are sought for the first annual H’artbeats in Harmony concert, to be hosted at Immanuel Center for Conscious Living in Long Beach, CA on October 3rd, 2009.
The concert is part of a larger transition for Immanuel, towards the adaptive re-use of a historic church building as a community cultural arts center. The concert aims to raising funds for the H’artworks program, with a broader goal of building creative community and raising consciousness through the arts.
H'artWorks, Inc. is a non-sectarian 501(c)(3) arts and education agency grounded in and guided by creative artistic free expression. They provide art and drama classes, a community computer lab, art shows, plays, recreational activities, and community and neighborhood development opportunities to the diverse community of children and families served by or near Horace Mann Elementary School in Long Beach, California.
There are four (4) performance slots available. We are seeking all genres, but specifically encourage Jazz and Gospel artists to reply. While we aim to keep admission prices affordable, artists will be encouraged to bring in a minimum of 50 supporters. Additionally, artists’ performances will be tax-deductible.
Artists interested in being considered should email their press kit to hartbeatsinharmony@gmail.com by August 10th.
